授業１０日目、その後ボーリングとツアー・イン・ポートダルジー(2007.4.2 Mon.)

エイプリル・フールの翌日、４月２日火曜日、授業も１０日目となりました。
今日の授業の全てが、各授業に対する評価とホーム・ステイに対する評価と
について、生徒一人一人が感じたままをアンケート形式で答える内容となりま
した。 クラス２の方は、明日、シャノン先生の授業で、ホーム・ステイに対する
評価について答えることになっています。
 放課後は、スクール・バスにて、１３：５０にブロック大学からダルジー地区に
あるボーリング場に向かいました。ここのボーリング場は、５ピン・ボーリング
でボールも普通のものと比べかなり小さく、日本には無い形式のものでした。
ボーリングで遊んでいる間、ジャッキーさんの計らいで、岡部彩華と斉藤亜衣
の誕生祝いをしました。 チョコレート・ケーキとバターレイズン・ケーキが用意
され、ケーキに立てたローソクを消して、生徒みんなにケーキが配られました。
ボーリングを大いに楽しんだ後、ポート・ダルジーまで歩き、バスの停留所で
解散となりましたが、ビーチで膝まで湖水に浸かって遊んでから帰宅する者
もありました。

明日は、いよいよ授業最終日、その後、評価テストと終了証授与式とサヨナラ・
ランチ・パーティが行われます。
早く帰りたい気持ちと、まだまだカナダにいたい気持ちとどちらが重い？

ブロック大学でお世話になった先生、職員の方々に対し、ささやかながら、
謝恩会を開催しました。

タイ料理もなかなか行けて、大変和やかな裡に、予定の２時間が過ぎて
しまいました。 今年の６月に Dr. Irons が、ブロック大学副学長の Ms.
Kim　Meade とご一緒に札幌へお越しになるそうです。 また、明日、
Ms. Kim Meade が、お別れ昼食会にお出でになるそうです。



席上で、私から以下のような挨拶をさせていただきました。

  Good Evening

  Ladies and Gentlemen,

  Thank you very much for coming to this party.

  We came to Brock, St. Catharines, Ontario in Canada, on the 15th of March.
  Time flies like an arrow, I mean our days together have almost come to an end.
  Thanks to you, we have studied lots of important things, such as Canadian culture, history and grand nature.  Our aims of this trip are almost completed.

  By the way, I want to tell my private story to you.  I went to Lethbridge Collegiate Institute, LCI, in Alberta, in September 2004, taking 30 students of Hokkai and Sapporo Senior High Schools.
  We arrived at Vancouver Airport, Calgary and then finally Lethbridge  by bus. I adjusted my watch by mistake in Vancouver but I forgot to do so in Calgary.  I mean my watch was one hour ahead in Lethbridge.  On the first morning, I got up at six sharp by my watch and knocked the door of my host, Mr. Max Zaugg, Vice Principal of LCI.   Knock, Knock, Knock, “ Max, time to get up.”  He got up soon, got out of his room and said to me, “Good Morning, Yoshi.”  Of course, without any complaint.  He drove me to a restaurant in early morning and his school.  He started his work in his office as usual.  I sat down there for few minutes and went out of his office.   I looked up at the clock in the hall and looked at my wrist watch.  Oh, my God.

  I mean I believe this is a real Canadian.  Your hospitality reminds me of such an attitude of his.  That is, Canada is really great.

  I’d like to say, “Thank you for your kindness and everything you gave us for these three weeks.”  I’ll never forget your kind hospitality.
  Please come to Sapporo, Hokkaido in Japan someday.
  We’re waiting for you to come.
